Position Summary
As a Territory Manager, you are responsible for delivering growth by promoting Intelligent Ag products as a professional sales representative to all assigned existing and prospective dealers and customers. You will develop and maintain productive working relationships with customers and ensure customers are well satisfied with our products and services. You will also assist in planning with management regarding product development, pricing, marketing strategy, and sales projections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Build and maximize the effectiveness of independent distributor/dealer network
  • A challenger and hunter sales mentality
  • Achieve reasonable, but aggressive sales results
  • Understand the market, customer, and competition
  • Develop territory, market penetration, and sales execution strategies to consistently exceed goals
  • Act as the principal relationship manager for distribution network
  • Assist distributors and dealers with effective training, product awareness, and field assistance
  • Ensure that effective two-way communication channels are open to provide feedback from distributors and dealers for capturing the requirements of end-users
  • Liaise with product management on product development programs and to ensure that all commercial requirements are met
  • Provide application support, product selection advice, and assist in troubleshooting products and installations
  • Research competitor activity including product ranges, pricing, market share, promotion, and changes to distribution channels
  • Research and understand the agricultural market to identify trends and potential new business opportunities
  • Manage inventory
  • Work requires 50-75% travel to meetings, dealer site visits, and trade shows
  • Computer proficiency with ability to manage a CRM system
  • Desire to manage and organize through best practices/systems

Performance Metrics

  • Meet sales targets for the assigned territory
  • Develop a plan to establish and grow Intelligent Ag’s dealer network and ensure dealers are under proper agreements
  • Maintain accurate dealer and contact information in [please apply online] Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • A.A.S. in Agribusiness, Agricultural Systems Management, Ag Sales, Crop and Weed Science or equivalent
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to operate autonomously and drive results
    • Ability to express, formulate, and present technical information or concepts with clarity and effectiveness
    • Mechanical aptitude with preference in agricultural equipment is preferred
    • Ability to generate demand for Intelligent Ag products and close prospective sales.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3-5+ years of sales experience preferred
